Before he was an industry tastemaker, Matt Zingler was a party animal. Him and his childhood friend Tariq Cherif would organize and promote parties throughout high school and college, and eventually turn their recreations into a business.

As they became more familiar with event organization, they went though numerous bouts of trial and error. They blew their combined life savings of $30,000 to book Rick Ross for an afterparty. Though Matt and Tariq may have lost money and time when learning the ins and outs of the game, they always continued to gain experience. After reorganizing their business model to promote local Florida rappers, the two had begun to gain serious traction in the independent hip hop scene.

Poised to take another big leap, the Matt Zingler had partnered with investors in order to launch Rolling Loud in 2015. The intention was to capitalize on the growing popularity of the Soundcloud hip hop scene, and Matt had all the connections he needed through all the work done in years prior.

Rolling Loud was an immediate success for the crowd and the performers, and solidified itself as the premier hip hop music festival. In an unprecedented move, Matt Zingler and Tariq Cherif took began to franchise their brand out, and Rolling Loud found new homes in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, and Tokyo. Because Matt dedicated serious time to support up and coming hip hop acts, Rolling Loud grew exponentially as the new sound began to take over.

Matt Zingler’s key strategy has always been to keep the party going. That means understanding what gets a crowd excited, and embracing the small local market. Connecting with guests and supporting the talent takes dedication and perseverance, and Rolling Loud’s success is all the proof you need.
